Consequences of attack on Kyiv data centers: the status of XServer services
Primary Data Center
The building sustained a direct hit. The utility infrastructure and two server units were damaged. The unit housing XServer equipment remained intact; the servers and the data on them were unharmed. The data center is currently without power. Preliminary estimates suggest restoration will take several days. We are working with the data center team and will bring the servers back online as soon as power is restored.
Secondary Data Center
This facility houses approximately 30% of our servers. The impact damaged the cooling system, and the equipment cannot operate without it. Repairs are underway, though we cannot yet provide a timeline. We will share updates as soon as they become available.
What We Are Doing
- We are maintaining round-the-clock contact with both sites and assisting with restoration efforts;
- once power and cooling are restored, we will bring all servers back online and verify their functionality;
- we are helping virtual server clients migrate services to a different location (backups from September 18, stored outside Ukraine, are available) — please contact support.
What You Can Do
If you have backups, please deploy your most critical services to another one of our locations if possible. We recommend updating your backups once the servers are operational. Current status is always visible in the control panel. Further updates will be posted at app.xserver.cloud.
