Looking Glass — XServer Network Diagnostics
The Looking Glass tool allows you to check the quality of your connection to our data centers around the world. You can run ping, traceroute, MTR, DNS lookup, and other tests directly from XServer network nodes. It’s a convenient way to evaluate latency, stability, and routing before ordering a server.
Why check the network?
Choosing the right location is one of the key factors when deploying a website, server, or corporate infrastructure. It directly affects load times, connection stability, and user experience.
With Looking Glass, you can determine in advance which location offers the lowest latency and the best route to your target audience.
What to consider when choosing a location
- Latency — the closer the data center to your users, the lower the response time. Crucial for online services, VoIP, and gaming projects.
- Route (Traceroute / MTR) — the number of hops affects stability. A shorter route means fewer risks and lower packet loss.
- Bandwidth — upload and download speeds reflect how well the network handles high loads.
- Local peering (IX / direct links) — direct connections with regional ISPs reduce latency and improve accessibility for local visitors.
- Infrastructure reliability — redundant channels and backup routes ensure stable performance even during provider outages.
Advantages of the XServer network
- 🌍 Geography: data centers in Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the USA;
- ⚙️ Direct connections to major Internet exchanges (IX) and Tier 1 backbone providers;
- 🚀 High bandwidth capacity and minimal latency between locations;
- 🔁 Redundant routes and channels — network-level fault tolerance;
- 📊 Ability to test connectivity before renting a server.
How to use Looking Glass
- Select the data center location you want to test from.
- Choose a tool (Ping, Traceroute, MTR, NS Lookup, or Speedtest).
- Enter the domain or IP address you want to test.
- Run the test and review the results.
After testing, you can determine which XServer location provides the best speed and stability for your audience. This helps you select the optimal hosting region before placing your order.
Why it matters
Even a small latency difference (10–20 ms) can significantly affect page load speed, app responsiveness, or database performance. Choosing the right location ensures user comfort and project stability under heavy load.
Test the network now
Run a test from any XServer location and see the network quality in real time. Results show that XServer delivers low latency, high availability, and Tier 1-grade reliability.
